What you can do on KeyGuru

After an examination authority publishes a candidate response sheet, the first practical question is often: How many marks did I actually score? The answer depends on the examination's question structure, official answer key and marking rules.

KeyGuru brings those steps together in one place. Its examination-specific tools can read supported response-sheet formats, identify candidate choices and answer information, and present the resulting question and section-level score information. The site also publishes guides explaining marking schemes, score conversion and answer-key objections.

Important: A KeyGuru calculation is an informational result based on the response-sheet data available to the tool and the marking rules configured for that examination. Candidates should use the conducting authority's final result, scorecard and official notices for final decisions.

How a KeyGuru Response-Sheet Tool Works

The exact implementation varies by examination, but the core workflow is designed around the information contained in the candidate response sheet.

1. Open the official response sheet

The candidate first obtains the response-sheet URL from the relevant examination authority or its authorised portal.

2. Read the available question data

Supported tools retrieve the response-sheet HTML and identify examination details, question IDs, selected options and available answer information.

3. Apply the examination rules

The tool applies the marking configuration for that examination and presents total, attempted, correct, incorrect and section-level results where available.

Technical note: Because some KeyGuru PHP tools retrieve the submitted response-sheet URL on the server before parsing it, the site's privacy documentation should describe this server-side processing accurately.

How KeyGuru approaches accuracy

Examination rules can change between recruitment cycles. For that reason, KeyGuru should treat each calculator as an examination-specific utility rather than assuming that one marking formula applies everywhere.

  • Use the marking scheme applicable to the relevant examination and cycle.
  • Separate raw-score calculations from official normalized scores, ranks or final results.
  • Explain assumptions where the response-sheet format does not provide enough information.
  • Encourage candidates to check the conducting authority's final answer key, result and notification.

Report an error

If a calculator displays an unexpected question, answer, mark or examination detail, please send the page URL and the relevant issue to the KeyGuru support address.

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to common questions about the tools and their results.

Does KeyGuru provide an official examination result?

No. KeyGuru provides an analysis based on the information available to its calculator. The examination authority's result, scorecard and final answer key are authoritative.

Why can a calculated raw score differ from a final score or percentile?

Some examinations use normalization, percentile methods, weighting or other selection rules after the raw response-sheet score is determined. A calculator should not be treated as a substitute for the authority's final result.

Does every KeyGuru calculator work the same way?

No. The tools are examination-specific. Question formats, marking rules, qualifying rules and response-sheet structures can differ, so each calculator has its own configuration.

Where can I report a problem?

You can contact KeyGuru through the Contact page or email keyguruin@gmail.com with the examination name, page URL and a description of the issue.
