RRB ALP Selection Stages & Exam Pattern
The RRB ALP selection framework consists of multi-stage Computer-Based Tests followed by psychological aptitude testing:
- CBT 1 First Stage Computer-Based Test (Screening): A screening test of 75 questions (75 marks) spanning 60 minutes. Marks scored in CBT 1 are used only to shortlist candidates for CBT 2 and are not counted in the final selection merit list.
- CBT 2 Part A Second Stage CBT (Part A - Merit): 100 questions (100 marks) in 90 minutes. Marks scored in Part A determine shortlisting for CBAT and carry significant weightage in the final merit list.
- CBT 2 Part B Second Stage CBT (Part B - Trade Qualifying): 75 trade-specific questions (75 marks) in 60 minutes. Candidates must score a mandatory 35% qualifying marks (26.25 marks out of 75) to be considered for further stages.
- CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test): Psychological aptitude test required for all ALP candidates. No negative marking is applied in CBAT. Candidates must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each test battery to qualify.
- Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination: Final stage based on combined performance of CBT 2 Part A and CBAT, followed by strict A-1 medical standard testing.
