The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) twice a year to select officers for the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) branches. The written exam is a decisive stage before the AFSB interview, and this tool helps you compare your raw score with expected cut-off ranges before the official result declaration.

AFCAT Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

AFCAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 questions / 300 marks, to be completed in 2 hours (120 minutes). Candidates applying for the Ground Duty (Technical) branch must additionally appear for the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).

AFCAT Paper Structure (2 Hours, 100 Questions, 300 Marks)

Note: There is no fixed sectional time limit — candidates can attempt sections in any order within the overall 2-hour window. The final merit list for AFSB shortlisting is prepared branch- and category-wise based on total score.

EKT — Engineering Knowledge Test (45 Minutes, 50 Questions, 150 Marks)

Note: EKT is applicable only for candidates who have applied for the Ground Duty (Technical) branch. Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Non-Technical) candidates do not need to attempt it.

Official Marking Scheme

This applies equally to AFCAT and EKT. This calculator uses the same marking pattern so you can estimate your score accurately before the official result.
