RBI Assistant Selection Process & Stages
Selection to the post of Assistant in the Reserve Bank of India comprises a three-stage competitive framework:
Stage 1 — Preliminary Examination (Screening): A 60-minute online screening test of 100 questions (100 marks) with strictly enforced 20-minute sectional timing. Prelims marks are for shortlisting candidates to the Mains examination and are not counted in the final merit list.
Stage 2 — Main Examination (Merit Deciding): An online objective test of 200 questions (200 marks) spanning 135 minutes across five subjects. Performance in the Main Examination solely decides the merit ranking for provisional selection.
Stage 3 — Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Mandatory qualifying test in the designated local language of the respective RBI office. Candidates failing the LPT are disqualified regardless of Prelims or Mains scores. There is no interview round.
