AP DSC 2026 Syllabus: Perspectives in Education and Educational Psychology (SGT and School Assistant)
Two parts of the AP DSC 2026 written test are common to every post: Perspectives in Education and Educational Psychology. The School Assistant document gives them 5 marks each; the SGT document gives 4 and 8. Because they are identical across the eight syllabus documents we reviewed (apart from the SGT additions marked below), this page sets them out once instead of repeating them on every subject page.

How to Prepare These 9 to 12 Marks
A practical approach
- Build a one-page timeline for History of Education: the committees and commissions named in the syllabus are all dated, so a chronological sheet turns a long list into one picture.
- Group the programmes and projects (APPEP, DPEP, SSA, NPEGEL, RMSA, RAA, KGBVs, Model Schools) by what each targeted, so the acronyms are not learned in isolation.
- Read the primary documents: the RTE Act 2009, the RTI Act 2005, NCF-2005 and NEP-2020 are public documents; a focused read of each is worth more than second-hand notes.
- For psychology, link every theory to a classroom use, because the syllabus itself says "classroom implementation" after most units.
- SGT candidates: allot extra time to Development of Child (Piaget, Kohlberg, Chomsky, Rogers, Erikson); it is the largest of the four SGT units by marks share.
These topics are the foundation for the pedagogy questions in your subject methodology section too, so time spent here is not wasted. Go to the syllabus guide for your post: SGT, Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, Social Studies, English, Hindi and Telugu.
